Biography

Susanne was born and raised in Skowhegan, Maine. After graduating from high school, she began studies in Music Education at Plymouth State College in Plymouth, New Hampshire. Two years later she transferred to The Boston Conservatory of Music, Drama and Dance in Boston, MA. She changed her major to Applied Voice and studied with Miss Iride Pilla, a well-known teacher of the Bel Canto method of singing. After graduating cum laude, she remained in the Greater Boston area. Susanne studied voice with Susan Clickner, a McCloskey Method teacher at New England Conservatory of Music. She performed numerous recitals in central Maine, directed several children’s and adult church choirs, was a frequent soloist at the Christian Science church in Plymouth, MA, sang with the Peloquin Chorale, directed by the late Dr. C. Alexander Peloquin, composer-in-residence at the Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral in Providence, Rhode Island and long-time choral director at Boston College. She was also a wedding and funeral soloist with Dr. Peloquin at the Cathedral.

In the fall of 2015 Susanne was the vocal director for Steubenville, Ohio’s, Catholic Central High School’s production of Hello Dolly! . In the fall of 2016 she is the music director of an original musical, Wooden Heart Follies, to be performed at the Nutcracker Advent Village in Steubenville, OH. In the spring of 2017 she will be the vocal director of the upcoming musical at Catholic Central High School. Susanne sings in the soprano section of the St. Peter Catholic Church choir in Steubenville. She also teaches voice from her home studio. Susanne is married and has six homeschooled children and is also enjoying her five grandchildren.
